How is the star calculated?

Abjad value
Every Arabic/Urdu letter carries a traditional number (ا = 1, ب = 2, ج = 3 … غ = 1000). We add up every letter of your name.

Add mother's name
The abjad value of your mother's name is added to yours to make one total (majmoo‘a adad).

Divide by 12
The total is divided by 12. The remainder is your burj — 1 is Hamal (Aries), 2 is Saur (Taurus) … and 12 (or 0) is Hoot (Pisces).
